You've still got time to have your say. With MPs having launched an inquiry into the issue of staff recruitment and retention in the hospitality industry, now is your chance to share your views on our wonderful industry and collectively get our message across. The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Hospitality and Tourism is asking businesses to make submissions to its inquiry, which will end by making a series of recommendations to government. The deadline for submissions of written evidence is 14 June.Submissions should be no longer than 1,500 words and can be sent to: policy@ukhospitality.org.uk#hospitality #staffing #recruitment #retention"

TAFEP was honoured to be invited to present at an event hosted by the Association of Electronic Industries in Singapore (AEIS), titled "Navigating the Future of Work: Understanding the Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests (TG-FWAR)", held on 6 August 2024 at e2i’s Devan Nair Institute. Our principal Manager, Mr James Pang, delivered an insightful presentation on TG-FWAR to an audience comprised of more than 30 business owners and HR practitioners from SMEs who are all members of AEIS. During Mr Pang’s presentation, the following key takeaways were highlighted as information that employers should know before the TG-FWAR officially takes into effect on 1 Dec 2024.·TG-FWAR does not require employers to approve all FWA requests. Rather, it governs the process for requesting FWAs.·It requires that employers properly consider employees’ formal FWA requests based on business grounds.·If there is an existing FWA request process, whether formal or informal, and it is working well for both employer and employee, the employee should use the process stipulated by the company to request for FWAs.·In the end, what is more important is for employees and employers to be able to discuss and land on arrangements that address their respective needs and constraints and maintain harmonious workplace relationships. For more information about the TG-FWAR, please visit tafep.sg#TGFWAR #FlexibleWorkArrangement #FWAWorksForYou #SGWorkplace

The hospitality sector skills shortage has received a recent rush of concern and publicity, with government ministers meeting to discuss concerns and new ideas. Some reports suggest that the sector has been “understaffed since 2006, with a steady 90,000 unfilled vacancies since 2017.”Find out more about how this skills shortage is affecting both the public and private sectors, and how recruiters are looking to overcome it in this new article fromAaron Wawman, CCWP:https://lnkd.in/eTgD9DTD#hospitality#publicsector#skillsshortage

Break out of your employer branding bubble and come spend the day with us! If you’re looking for an opportunity that’s less talking at you, more talking to you; less here’s what I did, more here’s how you can do it… then this is a great day to walk away with a stack of cheat sheets to use the minute you’re back at your desk.

Sweden: New collective agreement for in-house cleaning workSweden's Almega Tjänsteföretagen (the Service Employer Association) and Vårdföretagarna (The Association for Private Care Providers) have signed a new collective agreement with the Real Estate Employees' Association for cleaning work under their own auspices. The new agreement extends over 24 months and the total cost frame is 7.4%. "It is positive that we have signed another agreement where everything fits within the framework that the parties have previously agreed on, the so-called mark," explains Sara Ejdeskog, who is responsible for contracts for Vårdföretagarna."The negotiations have taken place in good spirit with the common goal of finding conditions that work in the long term for both employers and employees. The collective agreement applies during the period 1st November 2023 to 31st October 2025. Almega strives for the best conditions for both entrepreneurs and employees, believing that offering attractive conditions is crucial for the success of service companies.https://lnkd.in/eJ4Usadt
